Game Republic Christmas Party & Quiz – 13th December

Red Kite winning quizHo ho ho! It’s nearly Christmas and what better way to celebrate the festive season than with the traditional Game Republic Christmas Party & Quiz on 13th December in Leeds?

The final event of the 2017 calendar was an opportunity for our members to network, enjoy a drink and a Christmas feast, and take part in the world-famous* Game Republic Christmas Quiz – 40 punishing games-themed questions with four rounds including “True or False” and “Old School”. Games developer and publisher Team17 has won the quiz for the past three years, but this year it was the turn of Red Kite Games to win the coveted trophy and champagne (see photo above).

This year we also ran an extra prize draw to raise money for charity with gifts kindly donated by Ubisoft and Bethesda, including Wolfenstein II T-shirts, a South Park special edition and a For Honor exclusive box set, which were won by Laser Dog Games and Red Kite Games. The prize draw raised £175 for Save the Children – so many thanks to everyone for contributing.

We’ll have more for members in 2018, with a programme of exciting events (including GR/VR on 24th January) so if you’re interested in joining, just get in touch. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

* The GR quiz may not actually be world-famous.
