Barclays announce Games Demo Day with Ukie

Game Republic Official Partner Barclays has announced that they are partnering with Ukie again, to create another opportunity for UK Games developers to showcase their games and make new connections. In the announcement Barclays said “The UK’s innovative and dynamic video games industry is amongst the world’s largest and has an enviable reputation for creative talent and developing titles with truly international appeal. Games developers in world-leading UK studios have created some of the most popular and successful games on the globe. One of the biggest hurdles for indie games developers is finding funding, and larger games businesses and investors often struggle to find the right game and developers to work with. We see this Demo Day as a vital link in creating connections for developers.”

The Demo Day will be held in April, with 8 successful developers showcasing their unsigned games in a virtual Demo day. If you have an unsigned game and you would like the chance to be a demonstrator at this event please, complete the application form at: games.creative.barclays/demo-day

MD of Game Republic Jamie Sefton said “2024 will provide a great number of opportunities for game developers to showcase their games for potential funding / investment. Alongside these virtual demo days, there will also be Barclays Frenzy in London on May 16th and also our own GaMaYo events on 23rd May and 21st November which we expect to be even bigger. There are also events like Format which provide a great opportunity for game developers to connect with players. We will also be supporting companies on a trade mission to GDC in March too to make great connections thanks to our work with the Department of Business and Trade  – that is just a small sample of events designed to support companies to get the games published and make new connections. All crucial ways in which we can support our sector so we can continue to be world-leading in creating fantastic games and original IP.”

Applications will close on midnight, 21st Feb 2024, with the virtual Demo Day taking place in late April.
