Over 60 Game Republic members and invited guests attended Game Republic’s Game Changers lunch on 12th September to meet Spencer Low, Producer, Strategic Content for Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe and to hear useful insights into IP from Louise Handley of 3volution.
The Game Changers lunchtime event provided the Game Republic developers with key information on how best to work with Sony, the type of support that exists for game studios publishing and funding and the potential of the 20 million subscribers on PlayStation Plus.
Game Republic’s Jamie Sefton (pictured left trying out some VR at the event) commented “It was great to see so many of our developers getting to meet Spencer and share their games, and getting tips on how to approach IP from Louise. Being able to work with the team at DC Labs in York also provided our members with insights into the work from artificial intelligence to business resilience.”
The Game Republic lunchtime event which was sponsored by Garbutt & Elliott formed part of NEMOG, a conference and expo celebrating 3 years of work with the games industry exploring player analytics, behaviours and the game industry’s ever changing business models. Following the lunch and lots of networking at the Lake House, GR members joined the NEMOG conference and expo to see some of the work that has emerged from games industry research projects over the last 3 years.
The next Game Republic event will be on 19th October and will be looking at Mobile Games Design at the Showroom Sheffield with talks from Red Kite and a very special announcement. Tickets available here
