Spencer Low from Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe (SIEE) will be leading discussions on funding opportunities and how to publish on PlayStation at a special Game Republic lunchtime event entitled Game Changers on Monday 12th September in York.
The event, part of a full day’s programme, will celebrate the achievements of a three-year project entitled NEMOG (New Economic Models and Opportunities for digital Games) which has provided new insights into business models and opportunities for the games industry. The Game Republic lunchtime discussions and networking will be followed by an afternoon of talks, panels, a showcase and drinks at the Ron Cooke Hub, home to York’s Digital Creativity Labs.
Peter Cowling Director of IGGI & Digital Creativity Labs is delighted to be celebrating the successes with the games industry: “In three years, NEMOG boasts some remarkable achievements, most notably that it provided the impetus for a further £30 million in funding for industry-focussed research in games and digital creativity. The Symposium will give us a chance to celebrate and show our new understanding in business models for games and game analytics gained in the 3 years of the NEMOG project, as well as welcome a keynote from the internationally renowned game analytics researcher, Anders Drachen.”
The lunchtime event, which is being sponsored by Garbutt + Elliott, will also include insights into Intellectual Property (IP) from solicitors 3volution and will be attended by numerous games companies from the North and by board members who have led the NEMOG programme.
Game Changers is free to members of Game Republic. To book tickets visit the website.
