As we get ready for the Summer Arcade Party this evening, Nick Keynes has blown the cover and gone and revealed that on 23rd November 2023, GameDevDay including GaMaYo will be hosted at Tileyard North in Wakefield!! This means a bigger venue that is easy to get to, with lots of space to demo and play games, network and given how popular the arcade party has been, the event will also include arcade machines too. The event is all part of what has been Game Republic’s busiest year yet thanks to support from Official Partners Red Kite Games, Barclays and Escape Technology.
The GaMaYo event in November 2023 will be hosted in what was originally the Carding Shed.
Jamie Sefton explains “GameDevDay in May was really busy so we wanted to secure a bigger venue to host GaMaYo in November as it is our penultimate event of our Anniversary year. GaMaYo attracts over 250 developers each time and always sells out. As it is our 20th Anniversary year, we wanted something extra special and to enable more people to attend it and to ensure there was enough room for everyone to feel welcome and comfortable. Tileyard North agreed to host and support the event as our headline sponsor which is really exciting. It’s easy to get to by train or car and the main event space is huge and pretty spectacular. Crucially it will be easy to move about and meet people and see new games and will mean there will be quieter areas for some downtime. It also gives us a suitably impressive space to reveal the winners of our 20th Anniversary Game Republic Award winners there too.”
Tileyard North is a creative industries destination on Wakefield’s Waterfront – providing recording studios, creative offices, content spaces, event venues, meeting rooms, and delicious food & beverage offerings onsite. Once fully completed, the vision is for Tileyard North to become the UK’s largest creative community outside of London. Tileyard North will be offering tours before the event for people interested in having a sneak peek at the studios and spaces that have only be opened for 3 months…We recommend having a look because the spaces are awesome.

Bookings are open for what is set to be our biggest GameDevDay yet – if you are in Game Republic look out in your in-box tomorrow for a free ticket code which will include access to the GR business event from 4pm – 6pm, followed by GaMaYo from 6pm.
If you are a member of GaMaYo you will need to check the Facebook group tomorrow for a code to sign-up for GaMaYo which will start at 6pm.
All members will be able to request an opportunity to demo their game at the event when they book and there will be up to 20 spaces available.
