HP with AMD alongside Escape Technology have confirmed they will be sponsoring GaMaYo and the Game Republic Awards on 13th November at WX in Wakefield. The event will include over 50 new games being showcased, the big reveal of winners of the annual Game Republic Awards judged by games journalist and writer Keith Stuart and roundtables with experts, publishers and platform holders to support the indie game developer community.
A spokesperson for the sponsors said “HP with AMD is proud to support GaMaYo and the GR Awards, alongside our great partner Escape Technology. Events like this are vital for bringing together the creative minds shaping the industry, while also empowering the next generation of game developers.”
Over 400 attendees will be joining the event which is described as the largest and friendliest indie game gathering in The North.
Jamie Sefton, MD of Game Republic said “Support from companies like HP and AMD makes a big difference to events like this and the network, ensuring we can keep this event free especially as it has grown so much over the years. We hope that indie game developers and studios joining the event will take up the opportunity to check out the tech and speak to the sponsors about their technologies as well as connect with Escape Technology who can provide lots of advice for studios.”
GaMaYo is a free event for those making games in The North of England or working with game developers in The North. Game developers can apply to showcase their games for free at the event which happens twice a year.
Anyone interested in joining Game Republic can visit gamerepublic.net/join-us. If you are developing or supporting games in The North, you can join the Great Northern Games Discord here and apply for GaMaYo membership.
