European Commission Approves UK Videogame Tax Breaks

European-Flag1The European Commission has finally approved UK tax breaks for the videogames industry. This means that a new 25% tax rate is available now for all UK game developers who pass a cultural test – which is detailed here.

UK videogame trade organisations Ukie and TIGA, the UK government, numerous industry individuals and other bodies such as Game Republic, have contributed to the lengthy campaign which has finally, after many years, resulted in a tax break that can really help the UK games industry compete better on a global scale.
