Eligibility and Rules for the Game Republic Student Showcase
- To be eligible for the competition universities must be an Educational Partner of Game Republic.
- Students must be studying in the final year of a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate course at a University or College. Research postgraduate students working in relevant research areas from Universities are also eligible to apply. Entries can only be work that has been partially or completely submitted to count towards final-year and postgraduate work at a GR institution in the last academic year.
- There is a maximum of FIVE teams or individuals from each Educational Partner and there is a limit of SIX people per team. One of the projects can be an online entry in either Game Art/Animation or Game Technology – absolute final deadline for this is 15th May.
- You can enter a project for all eight awards as long as they are eligible. For example, an individual couldn’t win Best Team, and an art portfolio couldn’t win Games Technology (unless it was a showreel with animation for example). Please use your judgement – and contact Jamie Sefton at Game Republic if you have any queries.
- Cross-university submissions are allowed – but no non-Game Republic university/college can enter, attend or win prizes. Only one cross-university submission is allowed per Educational Partner. Please check with Jamie Sefton at Game Republic with any cross-university submission before the event to ensure that it will be eligible for the competition.
- You can enter projects that have been put forward for other commercial competitions (eg Transfuzer) – but only one per university/college.
- The Managing Director of Game Republic’s decision is final.
