Game Republic Careers Conference Open to Students

Over 100 students have already registered for Game Republic’s first ever Careers Conference on 18th June. The event is open to students attending Universities and Colleges in the North that are Game Republic Educational Partners. The event will provide an afternoon of opportunities with talks, an expo, portfolio reviews and career mentoring from game developers and studios. Alongside getting support in securing jobs in the games industry, the event will also provide opportunities for students to pitch their games or tech ideas to industry leaders.

Dr Jackie Mulligan, Development Director of Game Republic says that the event adds to the services Game Republic is offering to students “We know that the recruitment landscape is more challenging for juniors in all sectors right now so we are doing more to help the next generation of game developers. We have led bootcamps for graduates that have resulted in 10 new studios forming in the region, have established the Game Republic Student Club, which is providing events for students to connect with industry, our Game Republic Student Showcase continues to grow and the Game Republic Careers Conference feels like a logical next step. We are very grateful to Sheffield Hallam University for hosting it”

The Game Republic Careers Conference will be happening at Sheffield Hallam University from 12.30 – 5pm on 18th June and will be attended by developers, artists, managers from studios including Atomhawk, Red Kite Games, Wushu Studios, Distinctive Games, Rebellion, Airship Interactive, Fuse Games, Dovetail Games, Snappy Gurus, Betajester, Triplevision Games, Team17, Roarty Digital and there will be recruitment advice from Aardvark Swift and Andy Coley among others.
