Industry sessions at MCM/EGX with Game Republic

Game Republic has partnered with MCM/EGX and supported GamesIndustry.Biz to deliver a whole day of industry sessions on 25th October.  Jamie Sefton will be attending the event which will be held in the Platinum Suite of ExCel London on Friday. The event is sold out with many Game Republic members attending.

Speakers include Head of GI Chris Dring sharing Five things to know about the games industry in 2024 (and some predictions), Editor-in-chief James Batchelor hosting a panel entitled ‘Join the golden age of gaming adaptations: How games, TV, and Hollywood creators can build new worlds together’. The panel features Big Fan’s Amanda Kruse, Ubisoft’s Etienne Bouvier, and The Gillard Consultancy’s John Gillard, in which they will discuss how games can work with entertainment IP and vice versa.

Jamie Sefton is looking forward to the event “It has been great to partner with EGX to support this industry event and will be good to see Game Republic members alongside developers from all over the UK getting some fantastic sessions and insights from experts and having the chance to meet platform holders, publishers and investors.”

Other business sessions include ‘Getting funded for game development: The backing is out there’ which will be hosted by Jon Hicks, Pitchify’s Gina Jackson, Venture Partners’ Gus Carley, and The Games Angels’ Nick Button-Brown sharing insights about funding opportunities and how developers can access them.

The last session will be a panel hosted by Hicks, featuring Playtonic’s Sophie Shanks and Kepler Interactive’s Callum Owen-Vallentin during which they will discuss how to have a successful launch beyond wishlists.

The day will end at 4pm followed by networking drinks.
