Best title for a roundtable award so far goes to Other Things with a roundtable at GaMaYo entitled Is Games Marketing Actually Dead? – Why publishing a game is not the end.
Presented by Jayne Robinson, Marketing Director at Other Things, the roundtable will share insights on the different methods, channels and ways game developers can reach and build audiences and communities.
Jayne Robinson is excited about hosting the roundtable at GaMaYo “As a Northerner recently returned to Yorkshire, it makes me proud to see the amazing creativity in the Northern games industry. Proves that you don’t need to be London-centric to thrive in the creative industries. I’m very excited to make my GaMaYo debut representing the awesome team at Other Things, a creative agency specialising in the games industry.”
Three tips to market your game
We asked Jayne to share three top tips in advance of her session and she kindly provided these key essentials
- In its simplest form, marketing is about telling your ideal customer about your game. There are many different methods and channels that you can use to do this.
- Marketing can also be used to inform design and planning, giving you direct access to your ideal customers through platforms like social media and influencer outreach for research and game feedback.
- There is no one size fits all approach to marketing, it’s important to tailor your plans to suit your game type and ideal customer’s preferences.
Jayne and the Other Things team will be at GaMaYo on 23rd May, so join them at the roundtable or say hello if you see them.
