Plus Accounting Confirms Sponsorship of GaMaYo

Game Republic Affiliate Member Plus Accounting has confirmed it will be sponsoring GaMaYo on 22nd May at Project House Leeds. GaMaYo #24 which will be returning to Leeds after nearly 2 years will include 30 new game demos, roundtables and networking in this exciting new space in the city. Plus Accounting will be sponsoring the first drink for attendees and will also be providing a roundtable to support indie studios with questions they may have on all things finance, investment and taxation. The event forms part of the 2025 Game Republic event programme supported by Red Kite Games and Barclays Games and Creative

Sam Baldwin from Plus Accounting said “GaMaYo is a fantastic opportunity for indie game developers old and new to showcase their new projects, meet other developers and gain valuable advice on their game and their business all in a setting that lives and breathes video games. We are thrilled to sponsor both GaMaYo events this year and offer the chance to provide free accountancy and tax advice for those new to the industry and allow more people to be confident with their finances whilst also having a drink on us!”

Last year’s GaMaYo in Wakefield attracted over 400 developers, and the May event is set to be busy again with over 100 registered before the end of 2024. Jamie Sefton, MD of Game Republic said “This event has continued to grow over the years and we love to showcase the talent we have in the region to invited guests and studios from across the North and beyond. Last year three games got signed after appearing at the event, so we know publishers, investors and game studios see this as a key part of their business calendar. We will once again be welcoming global publishers and investors to GaMaYo and some excellent games. Crucially none of this would be possible without our Game Republic membership, sponsors and our Official Partners Red Kite Games and Barclays Games and Creative. We are so pleased to have Plus Accounting onboard after they supported us last year.”

Last year Sam attended GaMaYo and hosted an AMA roundtable which proved really useful for indie game developers as well as more established studios. He will be returning once again and is encouraging studios and developers to share any worries and questions they may have explaining that “The only stupid question is the one you don’t ask”

GaMaYo is a network managed by Game Republic that is free to anyone who develops games in The North and is free to all Game Republic members. To find out more about how to join to get access to the GaMaYo twice yearly events visit gamerepublic.net/join-us
