Almost 100 studios have signed up for Game Dev Essentials on 10th September. Game Republic will be hosting the event which will cover the essentials you need for game development with speakers from major studios and platforms providing tips and insights on production, audio, design, publishing, releasing a game, marketing and funding. The event on Wednesday 10th September will take place at The Baltic, South Shore Road, Newcastle Gateshead from 4pm – 7.30pm and is being supported by Double Eleven.
The event forms part of Game Republic’s 2025 event programme supported by Official Partners Red Kite Games, Barclays Games and Creative and Xsolla.
MD of Game Republic Jamie Sefton describes the event as “a one stop shop for game developers providing insights in key aspects of game development. It will also provide good networking opportunities in this stunning location.”
Sophie Shanks from Kepler Interactive will be sharing insights on “Publishing Best Practices”, such as knowing when to set your Steam page live, audience communication, Wishlists and more. Kepler is a funder/publisher & most recently has enjoyed huge success with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33″

Other speakers include Andrew Willans, Sumo Digital, with a very informative talk, “Chasing Flow State: Player and Developer Experiences” about the development and release of the game DeathSprint 66, plus . Patrick Randall, Double Eleven with fantastic advice on co-dev and John Sanderson, PitStop Productions who will be providing top tips for game audio on a budget. Phil Scott will also be sharing the latest updates from NVIDIA and Becky Jackson, Atomhawk will be sharing her insights in a presentation entitled “Not all Day Rates are Equal”.
