Charles Cecil, MD of Revolution Software based in York, has been named as a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for his services to the computer games industry.
Charles has been working in the games industry for over 30 years, for companies including Artic Computing, US Gold and Activision, however he is most well-known for founding Revolution Software in 1990 and creating the genre-defining Broken Sword adventure games.
In addition, Charles was instrumental in the formation of Game Republic back in 2003 and continues to be a fantastic ambassador for the Yorkshire and UK games industry. Congratulations Charles!
