Five of the region’s games companies confirmed as PlayStation 4 developers

Game Republic members Double Eleven, Sumo Digital, Four Door Lemon, Just Add Water and Team17 were all confirmed as developers for the newly-announced Sony PlayStation 4 console last night at an official press conference in New York.

Sony’s new, powerful, PlayStation 4 console, is to release in “holiday 2013”, and features a redesigned controller with a touch-pad on the front panel, a “Share” button for uploading movies and screens to social networks, and a built-in light bar that works with a bundled PS4 Eye Camera.

While no information is currently available on the projects, it’s a sign of our region’s games development strength that Team 17, Just Add Water, Four Door Lemon, Sumo Digital and Double Eleven are all signed up as games content producers for the promising new next-generation games console. More news soon – with pricing and availability (as well as a look at the actual machine) rumoured to be revealed at the E3 Expo 2013 in June in Los Angeles, USA.
