Game Republic

Game Republic Heads to Scotland

Jamie Sefton and Dr Jackie Mulligan will be heading to Scotland to host a roundtable on GameDev Essentials at Scottish Games Frenzy organised by Official Partners Barclays Games and Creative on 31st October.  There will also be a Game Republic area for game studios to show off their new games too. The first studio confirmed to join the GR zone is World 1-1 Studio a dynamic creative studio based in York, England, specializing in the development of VR games and XR solutions. The team will be showing off two projects that are under development.

For the last 2 years Barclays Games and Creative have been hosting a Scottish Games Expo in their Glasgow Eagle Lab, celebrating the incredibly talented Scottish and UK games businesses. This year they plan to make the event even bigger and better than before. This event will be a great opportunity to network, see the work of some incredibly talented studios and attend interesting round tables on important industry topics.

Roundtables will include a BFI and Johnston Carmichael roundtable on how to claim Video Games Tax Credits, a roundtable on scaling your business with Hyper Luminal, a round table on social media in games marketing by Disobey and a Ukie Roundtable on UK and Scottish Games Policy. The Game Republic Roundtable GameDev Essentials will take place at 4.15pm and will see Jamie Sefton and Dr Jackie Mulligan share insights on everything from how to network to which events to go to, how to make the most of events, pitching, approaching publishers and investors – all drawn from Game Republic’s 20+ years of working with game developers in The North.
