The Game Republic Student Showcase returns for an eleventh year on Thursday 7th June at Leeds Beckett University’s Headingley Campus.
The event will feature 25 final-year games and tech projects from Game Republic’s Educational Partners, being judged in various award categories – the Revolution Software Award for Art & Animation, the Sumo Digital Award for Game Design, the Red Kite Games Award for Game Technology and a special award for Best Team.
More than 50 previous award winners have enjoyed placements and full-time jobs in industry, joining companies including Rockstar Leeds, Distinctive Games and Sumo Digital, as well as setting up their own successful games companies, such as Shuttershade Studios. The GR Student Showcase really does change lives – an opportunity for games course graduates to directly meet games companies and network for jobs or advice in the games industry.
After the prizegiving, there will be a special panel for students about “Getting into the Games Industry” with tips from the games companies in the network – followed by drinks and networking.
