Managing Director of Game Republic Jamie Sefton has been appointed to the Board of Screen Yorkshire. The appointment was made over the Summer.
Based in Leeds, Screen Yorkshire plays a key part in driving the film and TV sector in the region. Established in 2002, it has been building Yorkshire’s global reputation as a centre for excellence in the screen industries for more than twenty years, helping to secure its position as one of the most sought-after destinations for content production in the UK.
Speaking about his appointment to the Screen Yorkshire Board Jamie Sefton said “We are increasingly seeing games companies in our network working across different sectors and particularly across screen industries. We have hosted Game Republic events that have highlighted the incredible work going on from games using licensed content from TV shows to games inspiring blockbuster TV series and movies. I am looking forward to helping to push forward our screen industries to maximise the potential to boost economic opportunities for the region across all sectors.”
The screen industries in Yorkshire & Humber are estimated to support some 12,000 jobs (directly and indirectly through the supply chains) with a turnover of more than £1 billion.
