Nominations coming in fast for games companies across Yorkshire and The North

Studios of all sizes have been nominated for Game Republic’s 20th Anniversary Awards over the Summer. Nominations close on 30th September but most popular categories for nominations so far are for best studios in Yorkshire and The North. Nominated companies do not have to be members of Game Republic but must be based in Yorkshire and The North of England or doing significant work in the region. The awards will be judged by Game Republic, sponsors with final say being given to Boss Judge Rhianna Pratchett.

Best Games Studios nominated

Best Large Studio sponsored by Eaton Smith Solicitors has attracted nominations so far for studios including Red Kite Games, Sumo Digital, Team17, d3t, Firesprite, Ripstone and Double Eleven.

In Best Mid-Sized Studio sponsored by Barclays nominations so far include Radical Forge, Rebellion North, XR Games, Revolution, Just Add Water, Ripstone, Draw and Code and 10:10 Games.

Best Small Studio sponsored by Lenovo has so far attracted nominations for Silent Games, Betajester, Fat Kraken, Cooperative Innovations, Huey Games, Labrador Studios, Claymatic games, Fruity Systems, Tripunk and Sigtrap

Best Videogame Ever Made nominations come in

Best Game Ever Made in Yorkshire has attracted lots of nominations. Games nominated so far include Rogue Trooper Redux, Gangbeasts, Broken Sword, Grow Home, WipEout, Killer Frequency, Astra Protocol 2 and Lord Winklebottom Investigates. Nominations for best game will be made into a shortlist of ten and will be subject to a public vote.

Best Games Course tutors nominations so far

Another popular category following a Summer of graduations across the region has been for Inspirational Course Leader with nominations so far received for course leaders at Universities including Sheffield Hallam, Huddersfield, Wakefield college, Hull, York and for Mastered.

Best Game Ever Made in Yorkshire and The North

Award winners will be revealed at the start of the GaMaYo event on 23rd November at Tileyard North with an audience of over 250 developers, platform holders, investors and publishers. Tickets for this event are free for GaMaYo members and Game Republic members. Some sponsorship opportunities are still available for this event, so get in touch with us if you are interested.
