Other Things success with Squirrel with a Gun

You would have to be on a different planet to have not seen the success of recently released Squirrel with a Gun. When we looked at the story behind the game, we were delighted to discover that Game Republic Affiliate, Other Things had played a big part in getting it out there. In fact the launch trailer they produced on the IGN TikTok channel (https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGd1pPgCe/) has racked up 2.6 million views, on IGN’s YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mpnSSJwSRw) it’s doing great numbers, as well as performing well on Maximum Entertainment’s organic channels. All in, the trailer has earned millions of views online, overwhelmingly positive comments from the community, and a ton of shares and reaction videos from content creators. The trailer premiered during Gamescom at the Future Games Show, and the game and trailer have received more than their fair share of press pickup.

Talking about their work, the team shared how they were given free reign to draw from the inherently bizarre nature of the subject matter and channel their daftest ideas into a launch trailer. Those daft ideas have translated into huge numbers and helped see Squirrel with a Gun achieve way more buzz, interest, and ultimately sales than Maximum Entertainment could even hope for.  It hit its month two sales goal on only the second day of sales and exceeded its month two sales goal by 11% in the first two and a half weeks alone.

Alongside that launch trailer, Other Things dreamed up and designed a set of limited edition posters that form part of the physical collector’s edition, some unhinged video content for Max Ent’s socials, and a cute set of GIFs featuring some of the unnamed squirrel’s best bits.
