Over 500 attendees have registered to attend GaMaYo on 13th November for an evening of networking, roundtables and more than 60 game demos, leading to the highly anticipated Game Republic Awards where award-winners will be revealed. The event is being sponsored by HP and AMD with Escape Technology and Plus Accounting and is supported by Game Republic’s Official Partners Red Kite Games, Xsolla and Barclays Games and Creative.
Small but powerful
The Best Small Studio Award, which is being sponsored by Yogscast Games, highlights the stellar work of small studios in the North. Speaking about small studios Dr Jackie Mulligan, Development Director at Game Republic had a few words to share.
“Whether a team has 2 people or 250, what makes them stand out is their communication, passion, teamwork and adaptability. These small studios are achieving great things, producing games, technology, creating positive environments and showing incredible passion for creating new experiences”
Here are just a few stand-out comments that show how creativity, dedication, passion and collaboration make small studios stand tall. We also created a word cloud to highlight all the amazing and positive words associated with the nominees…
“The team continuously guides and supports young people, especially those in need of direction, opening doors to careers in creative technology and demonstrating the generosity of a studio committed to community”
“A small but ambitious studio, with a bold vision”
“Innovation has always been central in their DNA, helping to shape the field of digital literature”
“We don’t have a huge team, or millions in funding, but we do have a ridiculous amount of passion”
All will be revealed on 13th November, but every nominee should be proud that their studio has been recognised. GaMaYo and the GR Awards is a free event for Game Republic members, educational partners, award nominees, sponsors and members of the free indie gamedev network GaMaYo.
