Double Eleven backs Game Republic New Horizons with Special VIP Reception

Double Eleven has revealed it will be supporting the new flagship conference for The North Game Republic New Horizons by hosting a special VIP reception for attendees on 15th October on the rooftop terrace of its multi-award winning headquarters Boho X.

The special VIP event will include a fireside chat with Lasse Seppänen the General Manager of Supercell’s new London Studio.  He played a key leadership role in creating the critically acclaimed Alan Wake, and was a serial entrepreneur in the mobile & handheld space. After his previous startup was acquired by Rovio, Lasse joined Supercell in 2019 and has since led teams behind games like Everdale, Hay Day and Boom Beach. 

Attendees registering for the conference will be able to apply for tickets and the VIP reception will welcome up to 150 guests including special guest speakers who as well as the fireside chat and welcome, will get fast track badges for the event, drinks and canapes and spectacular views to the iconic Transporter Bridge and the coast. Spaces will be subject to availability and guests registering for the event will have an option to make a donation to SpecialEffect.

The Game Republic New Horizons is being backed by Tees Valley Combined Authority and over 150 heads of studios and creative industry businesses have already registered to attend. The event will include the VIP reception, the full day conference, an expo area and an after party with go-karting, bowling, golf and unlimited and exclusive access to Level X.

Asher McClennahan from Kickstarter plus special guests from Maverick Games, Hat Trick, Rainy Frog, Transcend Fund and Double Eleven will be speaking at New Horizons on 16th October in Middlesbrough. Other special guests revealed for Game Republic New Horizons, which is being supported by the Tees Valley Combined Authority, include Harinder Sangha, COO at Maverick Games and Kimberley Turner, CFO and Commercial Director at Double Eleven who will both be joining the Leadership Panel hosted by Elaine Dowman, board member of IMIRT, the Irish Game Makers Association and Head of Games at Barclays. Plus, attendees will also hear from Tony Byus, founder of Japanese games publisher Rainy Frog, Lirui Ding, Principal at VC investors Transcend Fund, and Harvey Hayman, Games Lead at Hat Trick sharing insights on transmedia and funding opportunities, and there will be a live interview session featuring Chris Dring from media partner The Game Business with a very special guest to be revealed soon. The stellar line-up will join MachineGames’ Axel Torvenius, the creative director of the fantastic Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, who will be taking part in an exclusive BAFTA fireside chat to kick off the full day event. Game Republic New Horizons forms part of the 2025 Game Republic events programme supported by Official Partners Red Kite Games, Barclays Games and Creative and Xsolla.
