Outstanding designs for GR Student Showcase Mascot

The shortlist of submissions from students at Sheffield Hallam University for the creation of the Game Republic Student Showcase mascot has been described as “outstanding” by Jamie Sefton MD of Game Republic. Students were asked to submit their designs with the winner announced as Anna Moore – a level 5 Illustration student studying at the University.

The GR Student Showcase is a flagship event of the annual calendar and part of the 2025 event programme being supported by Official Partners Red Kite Games and Barclays Games.

“The shortlist was really outstanding this year, and it was a difficult decision, with so many styles and characters that could have worked really well. At the end of the day, it was Anna Moore’s design “Hopper” that stood out and we felt would be a perfect fit for this year’s Student Showcase. Her amphibious design is now on posters, slides and will be on the T shirts for the Student Showcase on 17th June at Sheffield Hallam University. We also requested she design the winning mascot in different poses for the event, which she provided (see featured image) so we will be able to incorporate this into signage and promotions too”  Jamie Sefton said.
