Academics from twenty Game Republic educational partners, GR members and affiliates are being invited to submit talks for a special Lightning Talks session as part of the Game Republic Careers Conference on 18th June at Sheffield Hallam University.
The GR Careers Conference is the first of its kind and will follow the very popular Game Republic Student Showcase on 17th June. The events form part of the 2025 Game Republic Events Programme being supported by Official Partners Red Kite Games and Barclays Games and Creative.
Submissions are being invited for 5 minute presentations on New Tech in Games; Serious Game Design; Artificial Intelligence and Game Development; Social Impact & Education through Games; Future of Game Monetisation; The Ethics of Game Design; Storytelling & Narrative Innovation; Multiplayer & Online Worlds; Game Design & Player Psychology; Game Accessibility and Inclusivity; Game Preservation and Archiving; Esports; Game Design Research and Practice.
The lightning talks session will take place at 11am on 18th June and will be open to Game Republic members to present or attend. The sessions will be followed by tours of the Esports, Playstation Development Labs, Impact VR Lab, and Steel Minions Games Studio at Sheffield Hallam University and lunch. In the afternoon there will be a careers expo and talks, panels and portfolio reviews by studios for students from GR educational partner Universities, colleges and training establishments including members of the Game Republic Student Club.
