Tips for crowdfunding to be shared at GaMaYo

Having run 20 successful Kickstarter campaigns, with funding totals ranging from £4k to £26k (and nearly £200k overall), Huey Games has built a “micro crowdfunding” methodology that Rob Hewson, co-founder of Huey Games, will be sharing with developers attending GaMaYo on 22nd May. The kickstarter campaigns have allowed Huey Games to build an engaged community of fans over time, and a sustainable revenue stream. Rob will be sharing tips and answering questions on one of the ten roundtables available for developers between 5 and 6pm at GaMaYo, Project House Leeds on 22nd May. The event forms part of the 2025 Game Republic events programme supported by Barclays Games and Creative and Red Kite Games.

Rob Hewson is a Lead Designer and Game Director turned development studio co-founder and design consultant who has been making games for almost 15 years. Alongside hosting the Kickstarter roundtable, Rob will also be demoing their latest game Hyper Sentinel at the event – here’s a trailer…

Rob’s roundtable will be just one of ten expert roundtables available at the event which will help developers to gain knowledge, get their questions answered and to network. Other roundtable topics will cover pitching, contracting and co-development, finance, opportunities with ID@Xbox, opportunities with Unreal and Epic, publishing tips from Devolver and Yogscast Games and more.

GaMaYo is taking place on 22nd May, and tickets are available for GaMaYo and Game Republic members for free.
