Game Republic to support GDC 2024 Trade Mission

Game Republic will be once again partnering with The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) to take a UK delegation to the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco from Sunday 17 to Friday 22 March 2024. A call out for expressions of interest is now live.

Jamie Sefton MD of Game Republic is encouraging game studios across Yorkshire and The North to join the mission – “Having helped to organise and lead these trade missions for more than 10 years, I know how transformational GDC can be to the growth and success of games companies in Yorkshire and The North. On a trade mission, we organise meetings with publishers, funders, investors and major platform and tech providers like Microsoft, Apple, Nintendo, Sony, Google and Meta who can help companies access the lucrative US market and beyond.”

This year, companies will not receive a grant towards GDC costs but will receive the following services for just £220.00 plus VAT payable to DBT USA:

  • Pre-mission support

  • A series of US market entry sessions

  • Commercial development meetings

  • Support from DBT partner Game Republic

  • Access to the Meet-to-Match Meeting Booking Platform

  • Access to the Werqwise Lounge to host meetings and utilise as a base for the week of GDC.  (Close to the GDC site)

  • Panel discussions and pitching opportunities

  • B2B meeting opportunities

  • Promotion of your company whilst in market through DBT and partners

  • Exclusive UK Games showcase evening

  • DBT hosted networking reception

  • Access to DBT partner UK Interactive Entertainment (UKIE)?networking events

  • Private investor networking reception

Eligibility Criteria

  • Express your interest by 11:59pm (BST) on Wednesday 1 November 2023
  • You company must be based within the UK
  • Places are limited and are subject to availability and eligibility.
  • Some activities may be limited to one delegate per company.
