The speakers and guests have been confirmed for the Game Republic event on GameDevday on 23rd November 4pm – 6pm. The event which is headline sponsored and hosted by Tileyard North in Wakefield will include Joshua Garrity, Head Game Scout at Secret Mode delivering a talk “Confidence is a skill, not a personality trait”, Colin Macdonald, UK Games Fund with a Content Fund update, Matt Handrahan, Kepler Interactive/Kowloon Nights on publisher funding available and a speaker from Creative Growth Finance, on the new £35m fund for creative industries – plus guests from ID@Xbox, PlayStation and more.
Afterwards from 6pm there’ll be GaMaYo with 20 new games from Northern game developers showcased at the event alongside an old-school arcade provided by Replay Events. As well as the fantastic Tileyard North host sponsor, the event is being sponsored by Lenovo and supported by our Official Partners Red Kite Games, Escape Technology and Barclays.
Jamie Sefton Managing Director of Game Republic has promised that the event will be the biggest yet but will have far more space to move around including a quieter area for some downtime, and plenty of opportunities for networking. He explains “This is a fantastic space for GaMaYo and for GameDevDay ensuring we can have everything in one place. The team at Tileyard North have been great to work with and attendees can opt in to do a tour of the spaces now available for hire, recording studios and more before the event too.”
For the first time ever GaMaYo will include a short Awards ceremony for the special Game Republic 20th Anniversary Awards. Full list of nominees and Award sponsors here.
If you are interested in attending but not yet a member, please get in touch here about joining the Game Republic network or you can buy a ticket here.
