GameDevDay is back! Thursday 22nd November will feature both Game Republic and GaMaYo events in Leeds, with more than 300 developers attending both events, which are kindly sponsored by Fourth Floor Creative, Samsung and Sheridans.
Game Republic in the afternoon will feature feature talks from John Vega, Commercial Manager at PlayStation on the platform holder’s Developer Relations team, where he looks after many accounts and works with developers to self-publish on the platform.
We’ll also hear from Colin Macdonald from All 4 Games with some essential industry tips for developers, Rich Keith from Fourth Floor Creative and Mark “Turps” Turpin from Yogscast discussing the latest marketing opportunities with YouTube/Twitch and their new games publishing initiative, and a unique fireside chat between Laura Harper, Partner and Head of Creative Industries and Digital at Shoosmiths and Viktorya Hollings, the former Head of Studio at PopCap Dublin (now director at Boomdash Digital Ltd), about the creation of the casual game classics Peggle, Bejeweled and Plants vs Zombies. Finally, we will have a presentation on the latest opportunities with Samsung mobile from Richard Huddy, Head of Games Ecosystem at Samsung R&D.
After 6pm, GaMaYo will kick off with drinks, networking with 300+ industry people and more than 20 new games from games developers across the North of England.
