Get Into Gaming, Saturday 11th May, Leeds

Game Republic and Cooperative Innovations are bringing a Get Into Gaming event to the Leeds International Festival on Saturday 11th May at The Tetley in Leeds.

If you’re interested in getting into the games industry yourself then be sure to come along to this L19 event whatever your age – whether you’re in primary or secondary school, university or in a completely different career.

Hear from experienced industry experts about some of the jobs that are available in the industry and what they involve on a day-to-day basis. Alysia Judge, Freelance Video Producer and Presenter will talk about “Getting into the Games Media”, Chloe Crookes, Senior QA Analyst at Team17 will discuss “QA Testing in the Games Industry” while Zi Peters, Level Designer at Sumo Digital will present on “How to Become A Level Designer” – plus there’ll be other talks and a panel where you can ask questions.

You’ll also be able to join in friendly workshops on how to make various kinds of games, including “How to Make Games Games With Paper” by Stuart Lilford from Scared Square Games/University of Hull, as well as try out an incredible new VR experience and play some fantastic new games made by developers based in Yorkshire and across the UK.

Whether it’s programming, game design, art and animation, sound and music, being a YouTuber or professional gamer, Get Into Gaming will have something for you to discover about a career in the games industry.
