The Game Republic Award Nominations for 2024 are finally revealed below! Nominations closed on 30th September 2024 and Game Republic alongside our Official Partners Red Kite Games, Barclays Games and Creative and Escape Technology and our Award Sponsors have been delighted with the response from companies and individuals across the North of England – thanks all for taking time out to nominate your colleagues, studios and games.
Here are the list of nominations which will be judged by Game Republic, Sponsors and our Boss Judge who has the final say on everything – former Games Editor for The Guardian and all-round games journo and writer Keith Stuart. The Best Indie Game category will be announced on 16th October and will be subject to a public vote that will close on November 18th, 2024. Watch this space.
Winners will be announced on 21st November 2024 at the GaMaYo event at WX, a brand new venue in the heart of Wakefield. As well as Awards, the event will include a VIP reception, roundtables from leading experts, over 35 new game demos, retro games including old-school arcades and a Halo Ring to celebrate Halo 2’s 20th Anniversary, plus food and drink.
MD of Game Republic, Jamie Sefton said “This is a very special Awards event celebrating the great work of studios, Universities/Colleges and individuals in The North. Huge thanks to our Award Sponsors and Official Partners, as well as our headline sponsor WX for supporting this event. It won’t be formal and long, it will be short and celebratory so we can highlight just some of the incredible work going on, before networking whilst doing what we all love – playing new games and retro games for the rest of the evening in the fantastic surroundings of the WX, a really exciting new event space in The North!”
