Major Games Industry Conference Secures TVCA backing

Tees Valley Combined Authority has announced that it will be sponsoring a new flagship conference for The North which is set to bring leading studios and creatives in games, film and TV to the Riverside Stadium on 16th October. Game Republic New Horizons will be announcing its programme of speakers including BAFTA, panelists and exhibitors over the coming weeks and is promising some surprise special guests from across the globe.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “Our region is now firmly established as a leading UK centre for digital and tech growth, powered by a creative and innovative games sector and rapidly growing TV and film production.

“Our Tees Valley Investment Zone has now been established to further expand our creative and digital industries, so events such as this are crucial in bringing industry leaders to Teesside to highlight the outstanding work and game-changing projects taking place right here.”

Jamie Sefton, MD of Game Republic which is the largest games industry network in the North said “We are excited that Game Republic New Horizons will take place in the UK’s fastest growing tech hub outside London. This new flagship conference is set to become an annual must-attend event in The North bringing investors, platform-holders, publishers and games studios as well as film, TV, creative and tech businesses from across The North, the UK and overseas to the region. Alongside the full day conference which will include bookable meetings, roundtables, panels, presentations, fireside chats and networking, there will be an expo including some unreleased games and an after party with exclusive use of Level X including unlimited use of arcade machines, go karts, golf, bowling, karaoke, food and drink.

Attendees registered for the event will also be offered the chance to join a special VIP reception on 15th October with details to be revealed soon.
