Indie Stars – International Games Competition To Discover Hidden Gems

Game Republic will be hosting a new “Indie Stars” expo at Game Republic New Horizons on 15th October. Up to ten FREE spots for developers with an unpublished game will be available at Indie Stars to demo and pitch to attendees, who vote on their favourite game – with the most popular game presented with a cash prize on the main stage at the end of the conference. The shortlist of ten games for Indie Stars will be selected by a panel of games media, and finalists will be notified on 21st September if they have been successful in securing one of the ten available places. Developers need to attend in-person and can be working on games on any platform such as PC, console, website, mobile or VR.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for games companies from anywhere in the UK and Worldwide to showcase their unpublished game at the conference for free, receive valuable publicity and demo in front of publishers, investors and platform-holders at the show,” said Managing Director of Game Republic, Jamie Sefton,  “as well as win a cash prize!”

Indie Stars will take place at the Riverside Stadium –  the main conference venue in Middlesbrough – on 15th October, with PC, power and monitor supplied. Indie Stars will enable the selected developers and their teams – if appropriate – to attend the flagship event for FREE – an event which is attracting guests from across the world with a stellar line-up of speakers including Ken Kutaragi – Father of PlayStation, Rebecca Lautner – Landfall, Hakan Abrak – IO Interactive, Teddy Keefe – Tencent Games to name just a few as well as an Investor Zone, Masterclasses, Tech Deep Dives, a MeetToMatch meeting system and three event parties as well as curated attendee experiences. The deadline for applications is midnight on September 13th, 2026.
