The fabulously grand and spacious Tileyard North will be the headline sponsor and host of GaMaYo #22 on 23rd May 2024. The event will return to the Wakefield venue following the success and positive feedback received from attendees in November.
But for GaMaYo #22 – Game Republic is shaking things up, with a one-hour session of short roundtables – before the demos start – on topics from IP to publishing with leading experts, publishers, platform-holders and studios. Attendees will be able to enjoy food and drink, plus there will be an upstairs lounge with access by lift and stairs to a quiet area.
Jamie Sefton MD of Game Republic which manages GaMaYo said “Indie developers coming to the event can expect a few changes to our GameDevDay designed to provide some extra support and opportunities for game developers coming to the event. Alongside new game demos, the roundtables will give all attendees access to our special guests and their tips and opportunities to help them on their game development journeys. They will also mean even more networking opportunities.”
GaMaYo will start at 5pm (instead of the usual 6pm) and is FREE for GaMaYo members. Plus there will be a special pre-event meet-up and networking with some short presentations from special guests including ID@Xbox for Game Republic members at 4pm. The event forms part of Game Republic’s programme of events supported by Official Partners Red Kite Games, Escape Technology and Barclays.
Nick Keynes, Co-Founder of Tileyard North said “We are delighted to be supporting this event again in 2024 and welcoming developers to enjoy our spaces. We will also be offering some tours and a few new elements to make the most of our on-site facilities on the day. Our mission is to help creatives connect, and we could not be happier to be involved once again in this fantastic event.”
Tileyard is a globally recognised creative community and has expanded to an extraordinary new space in Wakefield, West Yorkshire – a hub to create, work and play featuring recording studios, content spaces, offices, event venues and more. When re-generation is complete, the sister site to Tileyard London is set to be the UK’s largest creative community outside of London; a mixed-use, creative and cultural cluster with state-of-the-art facilities.
Registrations are now open, and up to 20 game demo slots are available for developers. Game Republic and GaMaYo can request a demo when registering to attend. Please get in touch if you are interested in joining Game Republic.
