Dr Mick and SpecialEffect will next month be presented with the BAFTA Special Award for “bringing the joy of gaming to physically disabled people across the world.”
Dr Mick announcing the news said “we’d like to thank each and every person who has supported and been part of the SpecialEffect story over the last 17 years and it goes without saying you are very much part of the SpecialEffect family!”
Jamie Sefton, MD of Game Republic, adds “This is great recognition of this charity that does so much with our games companies in Yorkshire and the North as well as across the UK. We were delighted to make them our Official Charity Partner in our 20th Anniversary year in 2023. Huge congratulations to the SpecialEffect team and I look forward to congratulating them in person at the BAFTA Games Awards in April for all the work they are doing to ensure everyone can enjoy playing games.”
