Huge thanks to new start-up Point Reverie’s Quinn McMahon who designed the new logo and banner for the Great Northern Games Discord. Quinn responded to the Game Republic brief and produced some fantastic assets to use and share. The design brief was put out as a competition to participants of Game Republic’s Graduate Work Ready Games Industry Bootcamp which was funded by York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority and Department for Education and was delivered in partnership with NextGen Skills Academy.
Quinn is a final year at the University of York where he received department prize for “achieving the highest stage one average on the Interactive Media programme”. He has already created several interactive projects and has an impressive portfolio in projects he has undertaken as lead designer, level designer, programmer.
MD of Game Republic Jamie Sefton said “Quinn is a very talented individual indeed – We are excited to see what his new venture with fellow bootcamper Josh Tunstall brings to the games industry in North Yorkshire over the coming years! He has already impressed the team with his work on assignments set by Avalanche and Singer Studios as part of the intense programme that has just completed.”
Quinn was delighted to win the design competition and said “I’m preparing to found an indie development studio called Point Reverie alongside my trusted business partner, Joshua Tunstall. In addition to developing games in-house, Point Reverie will offer work-for-hire services for games and related creative projects. My background is in game design and I’m passionate about creating evocative, cohesive games. You can find my portfolio linked here: https://quinnmcmahon.com/. I also enjoy art — graphic design in particular. I’m a diligent worker and keen collaborator, so if you like what I do, please don’t hesitate to reach out — I’d love to work with you! You can find me on Linkedin.”
Point Reverie will be attending the New Partners and PR event on April 18th in Manchester so Discord members can congratulate Quinn in person and learn more about their plans for the future.
