On Thursday 23rd June 2016, the UK voted to leave the European Union. While this will most definitely have economic and social repercussions for everyone in the decades to come, Game Republic will work on behalf of all its members with national representative bodies Ukie and TIGA, to ensure that the UK government will continue to provide the UK games industry with essential support, such as Games Tax Relief, R&D Tax Credits, IP protection, access to skilled workers in this country and beyond, and the freedom to export to EU and world markets.
Game Republic is immensely proud to be a part of the UK videogames industry and of course, especially, here in Yorkshire and the North of England. The games business is global, so it’s important – now more than ever – that we continue as an industry to be outward-looking, progressive, friendly, innovative and inclusive. We will have a panel discussion on the impact of this momentous decision to leave the EU at a forthcoming Game Republic event.
