GamesIndustry.biz Investment Summit News

egxGame Republic organised and hosted the GamesIndustry.biz Investment Summit again this year for Gamer Network at EGX in Birmingham, with a host of investor speakers and a record number of developer and investor meetings.

The Investment Summit brings together games developers and games funders for talks, a panel and formal meetings with the sole aim of creating more opportunities for developer access to finance.

This year there were talks from Paul Hanraets from Gambitious on their games funding programme for innovative games, Alex Tutty from Sheridans on how to make your company investor-ready, and Paul Durrant, UK Games Fund with news on the government-backed £4m scheme’s work so far, which has included the funding of 48 projects and the launching of the Transfuzer project. Durrant also announced that Round 3 of the UK Games Fund will start in November.

The panel included Paul Hanraets and Alex Tutty, as well as Mike Hayes from Mercia Technologies, Saad Choudri from Miniclip and Dawn Paine fro Creative England discussing the impact of Brexit, the current state of UK VC and angel investment and what investors look for in a games developer.
